David has a long and diverse background in all aspects of real estate, building & development. After attending the University of Miami Architecture and University of Florida’s acclaimed Building Construction program, David earned one of the first degrees in the field of Green Building & Sustainable Development in the United States.

David has been a pioneer in the industry ever since. Employing a multi-disciplinary approach and a true passion for building, David has a long resume of ground-breaking projects.

As Managing Partner of Push Design, he built the nation’s first Hempcrete home in Asheville,NC, a widely acclaimed project that garnered international press, including making the cover of USA Today and being featured on CNN, among many others. His off-grid custom homes in Taos, NM were on the very cutting edge of green building science. His white paper on toxin-free building strategies was widely debated in sustainability circles.

Having been a featured speaker at national conferences, published many times around his cross-disciplinary expertise, or consulting as a recognized expert on alternative materials and building methods helping to rebuild post-earthquake Haiti, David has been at the vanguard of the green building & sustainability movement throughout his 26 year career.

Merging decades of experience in real estate, investment and urban development, David has developed a unique skill set and plays a unique role in the industry.

Since relocating to Austin, he has focused on collaborating with some of Austin’s top infill developers, as well as working with investors and real estate clients of all stripes. His client-centric, data-driven and performance-based model gives his clients a unique, proven advantage in Austin’s highly competitive real estate market.

David and his wife Heather live in southwest Austin with their three children, Nicholas and his twin siblings, Madeleine and Mason.
